Picnic at the Fort

Standard

Luke is working 12 hour night shifts right now which makes it a little harder for us to spend quality time together as a family. Well, one day last week he got home from work and came to bed. When I walked in the living room I found a surprise on the couch. Because he wasn’t working the coming evening, he had a whole day planned for us. I was to call our favorite lunch place, The Cheese Wheel, and put in an order for our favorite lunch sandwiches. Then around 12:30 when Luke woke up we would pack up and head down to the lawn by the Fort downtown for a picnic! It couldn’t have been more perfect. The weather was beautiful and breezy. It wasn’t busy downtown. We found a secluded spot under a tree where we could laugh and play and nurse and eat without interruption. Afterward we packed up and drove to the other side of downtown to explore some streets that we don’t frequent. I wish we could do it every day!
